“But we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages of glory; the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory; but just as it is written,THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD,AND WHICH HAVE NOT ENTERED HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”
For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but on those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.
But a natural man does not accept the things in the Spirit of God , for they are foolishness to him; and cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. But he who is spiritual, appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ. ” 1 Corinthians 2:7-16
This has become one of my favorite scriptures. It reminds me of how living and being directed by the Spirit of God is the secret to living a life more abundantly. It is a scripture that speaks on the importance of living by the Spirit of God because only His Spirit can give us insight on the plans He has for us. When we live according to the Spirit, we realize that our relationship with God is worth fighting for because the Spirit will reveal to us the abundant life God has waiting for us. We begin to see life in a different light and see all the possibilities awaiting us.
When I think of living a life abundantly, I think of living in peace, living with favor, living with joy, living with a clear vision of what God has for me and living in constant gratitude. Living life more abundantly is more about using whatever God gives us and using it for His glory more than it is about material things. Watching God in awe move in our situations, situations that only He can rectify, is living life more abundantly!
There is so much that God has in store for those who love Him, and those things are revealed through the Spirit of God and not the spirit of this world. When we feel like giving up on life, giving up on our relationship with Christ, giving up on ourselves, giving up on relationships that are important to us, we must take it to the Lord and allow the Spirit of God to direct us. Being led by the Spirit leads us to a place of peace and resolve. On those days that I feel defeated and too lazy to pray or praise God, I’m reminded of the peace He gave when my life was upside down. I’m reminded of the joy He gave when I prayed in my sorrow. My relationship with God is worth fighting for because it allows me to live the abundant life He promised.
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” John 10:10
I am grateful that, “eyes have not seen and eyes have not heard all that God has planned for us but it is only revealed through the Spirit of God”. His plans for us are far beyond our worldly comprehension.
I came to this scripture (1 Corinthian 2:7-16) today from a song that a friend shared with me months ago. It’s called Worth Fighting For by Brian Courtney Wilson. I love music and I whenever I hear a scripture in the lyrics of a song it takes me to that scripture in the bible and it really ministers to my spirit through music. I love when that happens.:)
I encourage you today to examine what’s “worth fighting for” and be encouraged that a relationship with the Lord is well worth it! We spend time fighting for things that God is trying to rid us of for our good. Let your life be lead by welcoming the Holy Spirit into your day to day decisions. You won’t regret it!

That’s why I’m pressing towards the mark
because the calling on my life is worth fighting for.
And I’ll keep my mind stayed on You Jesus
Because the peace it brings is worth fighting for.
And I’ll be faithful, to my wife and children.
Because my family is worth fighting for.
No,this world is not my home.
But Your kingdom here is worth fighting for.
I got a mansion, Over in glory.
And my new home is worth fighting for.
Till I see it, I’ll shout Hallelujah here, cause my praise is worth fighting for.
Eyes haven’t seen. Ears haven’t heard.
There is so much more still worth fighting for.
